Scarce DWM Luger Pistol with Unique Totenkopf Chamber Markings
This is a very nice example of a scarce "Totenkopf" Death's Head Luger pistol. Though later associated with the Nazi SS units, the symbol was first used by the "Stormtrooper" trench raiding teams and flamethrower squads of the First World War. Fixed sights and undated chamber, with the "Lazy S" stamped next to the Death's Head on the chamber and the DWM monogram on the toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "Crown over Script" proofs and one Imperial Eagle proof, which is repeated on the side of the breech, and a commercial "crown / N" commercial proof on the barrel, extension, frame and on top of the breechblock. Correct "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" markings on the extractor and safety area respectively, matching numbers, checkered grips and straw color on the small parts. With a later production blue finished aluminum base magazine.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm P
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 3281f
Condition: Arsenal refurbished, with 95% of the blue finish. A brown patina is forming on the grip straps, with bright edge wear, a tiny amount of pitting on the muzzle and bright areas, minor spotting and handling marks overall. Straw finish remains strong in the protected areas, otherwise having turned bright. Grips are fine, with some pressure dents and smooth areas. Mechanically excellent.
