Scarce Colt SAA revolver, .41 Colt cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, checkered black hard rubber eagle grips, #137836 in overall fine condition showing the majority of its original bright blue finish on the barrel,majority of its original case colors on the frame, considerable original blue on straps, muted original blue on cylinder with scattered pinprick pitting, original case colors on hammer, crisp action, sharp markings, very good + bore, nearfine grips; accompanied by three factory letters dated Aug. 14, 1979, Sept. 13, 1985 and Sept. 6, 2013, all confirming caliber, barrel length and finish with type of stocks “Not Listed”, shipped to Montgomery Ward Co., Chicago, Ill. on Feb. 4,1891, 2 guns in shipment. This gun’s barrel and frame are pictured on page 349 of The Official Records of The Colt Single Action Army Revolver 1873-1895 by the Wilkersons and Hoyt who also indicate within the serial range of #1 thru164100, only 161 standard SAAs were produced in .41 caliber in blue with the 7-1/2” barrel.
