Scarce Colt Model 1905 United States Marine Corps Double Action Revolver
One of 926 Model 1905 Double Action Revolvers manufactured by Colt for the Marine Corps between 1905 and 1909. Model 1905 Marine Corps Revolvers saw hard service and are scarce in any condition. Fitted with a six inch barrel and standard two-piece checkered walnut grips. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 38" and the top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED AUG 5 1884, NOV.6.88, MAR. 5, 95." The circled Rampant Colt is marked on the upper rear corner of the left side of the frame. The bottom of the butt is marked "U.S. / M.C." behind the lanyard loop and "No. / 135" in front of it. The serial number (135) is also stamped on the inside of the crane and frame. Factory rework star present on right rear trigger bow.

Very fine. Unfortunately there is scattered minor to heavy rust with the revolver that retains 90% of the bright original polish blue finish. Almost all of the fire blue finish on the hammer and trigger remain. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks. The checkering is crisp.
