The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT. D.A. 38" and the top has the two line Colt markings of "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A /PATENTED AUG 5 1884, NOV.6.88, MAR 5.95" and the butt is marked "U.S./M.C." behind the lanyard ring and "No/413" in front of it. The left rear of the frame is marked with the circled Colt Rampant. The frame, crane and cylinder release lever are all marked with the matching assembly number "351". Blade front and frame notch rear sight, and fitted with checkered walnut grips with a diamond around the screw.
