The butt is marked with the USMC number (No.198) in front of the lanyard swivel and "U.S./M.C." behind it. The barrel has the two line Hartford address/patent dates along with "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side. A circled Rampant Colt is stamped on the left rear of the frame above the grip. The number "198" is repeated on the inside of the frame and on the cylinder latch with "440" on the crane. Fitted with checkered grips.
BBL: 6 inch round

Fine as refurbished. The revolver retains 99% plus of the blue finish with a few slight handling marks. The revarnished grips are very fine with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically needs work as the cylinder does not rotate when the trigger is depressed.
