by Mass Arms Co. .36 caliber percussion, 5-shot, Kerrs patent rammer, blue finish, checkered wood grips, 6” octagon barrel, Low three digit number. Cased with accessories. The pistol remains in very good condition showing 30-50% original blue that is evenly drifting and toning to brown. Some slight erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The bottom of the barrel shows original stamp “P CSA” (Proofed - Confederate States America) The grips are good to very good with sharp checkering, markings are sharp, edges very crisp, action good, bore very good. The revolver is contained with a original period green felt-lined case fitted to this revolver. The interior of the case shows one broken partition, some indentions opening at the corners, normal aging, but at least good. The exterior of the case is a veneered walnut, some breaks at the edges, and also good to very good. The case, though English in style, is probably American made. The case contains a bag flask in good condition, a Mass Arms marked brass mold which shows some use, a large Mass Arms mold with extended legs which also has been used, a wire-type cleaning rod, brush, and cap tin. Only about 1,000 of these Mass Arms navy revolvers were produced during the Civil War era and the markings on the bottom of the barrel are original. A wonderful secondary Confederate piece with both Kerr and Adams appeal. MWF920
