Scarce Bergmann Simplex Semi-Automatic Pistol
Produced in the early 1900s, the Simplex was an improvement on Bergmann's 1896 semi-auto pistol. Fixed sights, with a set of "crown/ crown/ U" proofs on the barrel rib and atop the frame, with "PAT./ BREVETE/ D.R.G.M." on the left side of the chamber. The magazine catch is mounted on the front of the well, which is drilled through in 4 places on each side, lining up with a set of viewports on the detachable box magazine. Straw colored hammer and trigger, with a niter blue ejector and safety switch. One piece checkered hard rubber grips, with the "Simplex" imprint on either side.

Condition: Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing areas of mixed brown and gray patina, along with scattered scratches and a small amount of pitting at the muzzle and on the magazine well. Straw colors are strong, and 80% of the original niter blue remains. Grips are also very fine, with some mild chipping along the edges and some light scratches and pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
