Scarce Beretta Model 1918/1930 Semi-Automatic Carbine

Designed by Tullio Marengoni, Beretta's chief gun designer, the 1918/1930 is derived from the World War I era Villar-Perosa sub-machine gun. In addition to abandoning the dual-receiver 'cigarette tray' mounting in favor of a more conventional carbine stock, the feed system was reworked to load from the bottom instead of the top. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the receiver marked "PIETRO BERETTA - GARDONE VALLE TROMPIA - ITALIA - CAL. 9" and "MADE IN ITALY/BREVETTO 1918-1930/A/4815" at the rear. A 7 inch folding bayonet is mounted to the muzzle, with a sliding dust cover for the magazine port and a smooth hardwood stock with a two-piece cleaning rod in the butt cavity and a steel buttplate. These 1918/1930 semi-automatic carbines were removed from the NFA as collectors items and classified as a Curio & Relic rifle by the ATF.
