Scarce .44 Russian Marked Colt New Service Double Action Target Revolver

This is an example of a relatively scarce New Service flattop target revolver manufactured in 1906. Chambered in the desirable 44 Russian caliber which was an excellent target round that was developed during this time. The barrel has the two line Hartford address/patent dates marking on top and "NEW SERVICE 44 RUSSIAN CTG" on the left side. The side plate has the Rampant Colt behind the cylinder latch. The trigger guard has the Colt triangle proof and the number "3" on the left side. Patridge front sight, rear sight adjustable for windage, square type cylinder latch and fitted with fluer-de-lis checkered grips.

Fine. The revolver retains 60% of the original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. Some minor pitting is present at the muzzle. The grips are fine with some minor handling marks and some wear in the checkering.
