This is a mid-WWII very late production Commercial Mauser Banner P.08 Luger pistol chambered in 7. 65 mm Luger. These Lugers that fall into the 6000-8000w serial number range were all commercial contract pistols, with this one being sold to Sweden as a commercial Luger with the noted caliber. All these late commercial contract Lugers usually exhibit excellent workmanship with a high quality all salt blue finish with walnut grips. The chamber is stamped "42" for 1942, the last year of Luger production by the Mauser factory. The front toggle has the standard Mauser Banner with the left side of the barrel extension, and breechblock having a "Eagle/N" commercial proof acceptance mark with no other proofs on the pistol. The pistol is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (7721w) stamped on the front of the frame only, with serial number (7721) stamped left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel. The last two digits (21) are stamped on all the various small parts. It is complete with two unmarked blue matching magazines. The pinned aluminum bases are each stamped "7721". This scarce Luger pistol is complete with an unmarked brown leather Swedish contract leather holster.

Very fine with 90% plus of the blue finish overall. Some edge and high spot wear and spotting on right side of the barrel extension. The right frame rail has a three inch long deep casting flaw present. The various small parts retain 95% of their straw colors. The grips are very fine with nice distinct checkering overall. The holster is also very fine with nice tight stitching and a nice slightly darker brown color overall.
