Scarce 1st Model Smith & Wesson Ladysmith Double Action Revolver
Approximately 4,575 of these 1st Model revolvers were manufactured between 1902 and 1906. They were primarily made as a defensive weapon for women. Fixed sights, with the two line address/patent dates flanked by Maltese crosses on top of the barrel, one line caliber marking on the left side and the small Smith & Wesson logo on the left side of the frame. Fitted with the distinctive checkered circular cylinder latch on the left side of the frame, a pinned barrel, 7-round fluted cylinder, casehardened hammer and trigger, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with a diamond pattern around the screw, patent date on the lower left panel and "S&W" in a circle at the top.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 95% original finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, scattered minor flaking and a few small areas of minor oxidation. There is some minor thinning on the backstrap and overall minor handling marks. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Crisp and clear markings. The action is excellent.
