This is a very scarce and desirable Mauser Banner Commercial Luger with "Crown/U" commercial proof marks on the left barrel extension and breechblock. The chamber is dated "1939" and the toggle has the Mauser banner trademark. Properly marked safety position and extractor. Full serial number on the front of the frame (with "w" suffix), left barrel extension, and barrel underside, with the partial serial number (49) on the takedown latch, side plate, sear, safety bar, thumb safety, toggle and toggle link. Straw finished small parts, stock lug, checkered grips, and blued magazine with aluminum base numbered to gun.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 90% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some loss at the muzzle. The side plate and muzzle have spots of cold blue. The small parts retain 70% original straw color. The grips are fine with a dent on the right panel and a shallow gouge on the left panel, along with some scattered minor nicks.
