Scarce 1934 "K-Date" S/42 Code Nazi Luger with Rare 1934 Dated Holster

This is an excellent original 1934 Mauser production, "K" date "S/42" code military Luger pistol with an equally nice 1934 dated black leather holster. These "K Date" P.08 Lugers were all manufactured in 1934 and were the first pistols to use the secret "K" date markings; intended to conceal Germany's rearmament in violation of the Treaty of Versailles. These early Wehrmacht P.08 pistols have an extremely low survival rate as almost all saw extensive service use, on the Eastern front. Examples in original condition are among the most desirable Nazi Luger pistols. This example is classified as a Sub-variation 3 that has the mixed script and gothic markings. There were only 10,930 total "K" date luger manufactured and of that number only 3,850 were manufactured in the 5200-9100 serial number range. This example has the standard Script "K" date mark on the chamber area with the mixed Gothic "S" in S/42 marked on the front toggle. It has standard military marked serial number on the major parts in addition to the Script "S" proofmark. The right side of the barrel extension has the boxed "B/90 and B/91" acceptance stamps with an Eagle firing proof. The major components are all stamped with serial number "7262" and the last two digits on the smaller parts. This Luger is fitted with a set of standard walnut grips. The pistol is complete with one original "type 1" nickel plated Army magazines with aluminum base, that is stamped with a "Script/S/4530/+B/90" acceptance proofs. This scarce Luger is accompanied with an equally scarce all black leather 1934 dated Luger holster. The inside of the holster is stamped "CARL HEINICHEN/DRESEDN/1934/WaA105".

Manufucture: Mauser

BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 7262

Very fine with 80% of the faded blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots overall with thinning and dulling of the blue on the grip straps. The small parts retain 30% of their straw colors. The grips are fine overall with nice original checkering on both sides, mixed with some handling marks and a few minor pressure dents in the middle of the grips. The holster is very fine with much of the black color overall showing only minor finish loss and scuff on the upper front edge of the flap and the lower toe area. The markings are crisp and clear inside. A very fine K-date Luger rig with matching numbers except the magazine.
