Savannah, GA- The Central Rail Road & Banking Company of Georgia $20 Dec. 1, 1871A simply spectacular Georgia obsolete which is a late date product of the National Bank Note Company. Although clearly denominated in dollars, it purports to be a "Fare Ticket" to evade the prohibition of banks (other than those taking National charters) or others issuing currency without paying the ten per cent tax due on circulation which took effect in 1866. The note has a gorgeous overall red-orange tint and is fully signed and issued. Very Fine, hard to estimate, but if rarity, appearance and overall desirability are any guide, expect to see bidding reach and quite possibly exceed...
