Two such examples where the charter numbers are overprinted incorrectly are known from this bank (with this the nicer of the pair), one is known from Bay Shore, New York (which has not been seen publicly since its appearance in the Grinnell sale sixty years ago), and a fourth exists with a pair of incorrect (although matching) overprinted charter numbers from a New York City bank, a note we have never seen save for a photograph. With the sole other Savannah example off the market for many years in a major holding, this may well represent the only opportunity for years to come for any collector of great errors to obtain any of the four large mismatched charter number specimens. We sold the small size Tigerton, Wisconsin mismatched charter number example back in January of 2001 for $22,000, while a large National bearing mismatched serial numbers realized $31,900 in a 2000 auction sale.
