Savage Model 1907, .45 ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol, made for military trials 1907-1911 with commercial quality blued finish, checkered wood grips, serial number 125. The pistol remains in fine to excellent original condition showing 95-98% original blue, just some very slight losses at the edges and muzzle, some minor scratches and handling, but generally excellent overall with crisp original checkered wood grips just showing very slight darkening from handling. The trigger shows 90-95% bright case hardening. The edges are sharp, the markings are crisp, the magazine release shows 40-60% case hardening drifting to silver. The magazine is matching. The interior is excellent, the bore is bright. A key American auto that competed in military trials and lost to Browning’s designs for Colt. With rare early box of Winchester made ammunition for tests, marked “US Property” with orange label with 18 rounds.
