Early M1907 Pocket Automatic pistol with rare sheet metal checkered grips marked "Savage Quality" with indian head motif. Single-action blowback, manufactured 1908, second year if production. The top of the slide is marked “Manufactured by Savage Arms Co.. UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A. CAL. 380. / Pat. Nov. 21, 1905. –.32 Cal.” The front of the frame under the barrel is marked “1642" 4 1/4” barrel with low profile rounded blade and u notch rear sights, manual thumb safety on left frame, mag release in fore grip, beveled mag well. The external “hammer” is really not a hammer but a cocking piece. Bore is very good/bright, strong rifling, slide action is smooth, faded case color showing on the trigger, blue finish is about 60% with some holster wear, handling wear mostly on the top of the frame and grip straps. Markings are crisp/clear. Comes in a quality reproduction box with labels, copy of old ad for this pistol, a small faux ivory "Savage Arms" plaque depicting an Indian Chief with a lever-action rifle and two factory 10-rd magazines.
