Sauer Weatherby Europa Bolt Action Rifle, #P58811, .270 Wea. mag. cal., 24-1/2'' barrel, blue finish, double set triggers, skipline checkered walnut stock with cheekpiece, rosewood forend and pistol-grip cap, rubber buttpad, sling swivels, and Zeiss Diatal-D 6x42 scope. Introduced in the mid-1960s, the Sauer Europa was made from forged steel instead of the more common cast steel that Weatherby normally employed. Rifle barrels were hammer forged by Sauer creating greater uniformity from breech to muzzle leading to greater accuracy and longer barrel life. Weatherby became the first U.S. company to offer these type hammer forged barrels. This, in addition to the nine-lug locking system, made for an extremely strong design. Condition is fine showing 98% original factory blue. Stock with light scuffs from handling. Scope with clear optics. Action is crisp, light set trigger pull, bore is bright. Est.: $1,800-$2,400.
