The lot features a nice beaded pipe tobacco pouch from the Eastern Santee Sioux Native American Indians and dating the circa 1890-1900’s. The piece shows an old Indian brain-tanned hide which is trade thread sewn and shows long fringes at the bottom along with a wonderful beaded panel on the front with typical reservation period Santee Sioux floral motifs on a white background. The piece shows the original tie straps still attached at the top. The beadwork shows a nice combination of colors including chalk white, greasy yellow, semi-transparent amber, red, pink and cobalt. The bag appears to be in well preserved good condition and measures overall 16”L by 4 ¼”W.
