<B>Santa Rosa, CA</B></I> - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 482 <B>The Santa Rosa NB</B></I> Ch. # (P)3558<BR> An excessively rare bank in an excessively rare and sought after location. A mere three notes are known from this bank, which issued only Brown Backs, high denomination Red Seals and high denomination Date Backs before the receiver arrived to close the doors forever in October of 1918. Just three notes are known to have survived, with the Kansas City collection containing two of the three. Our records show only two appearances of any kind at public sale, the last coming when the Horwedel specimen was sold over three years ago. A $20 Brown Back grading Fine-Very Fine, it realized $21,850 against a considerably lower pre-sale estimate.
