The Santo Domingo train wreck occurred on August 25, 1932, near Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico during the Great Depression. In the aftermath was the creation of Depression Jewelry where artisans used repurposed materials from the train wreck like plastic, bone, glass, shells and other found objects to craft unique and affordable pieces. This Santo Domingo necklace is 22" long. The pendant is L 2 3/8" x W 2". This historic artifact is highly collectible.
