Santa Clara Polychrome Pottery Dish - Frances M Chavarria. Vintage pottery by famous Santa Clara potter, Frances M. Chavarria who actively made pottery from 1930 to 1970. She was the daughter of Cynthia Tafoya and wife of Antonio Chavarria. A number of her pots are in the Heard Museum collection in Phoenix Arizona. This work has twisted handles on either end and blue, clay, yellow and white designs on the bowl on the deep red clay background. It is signed on the bottom. It is in very nice condition and shines brilliantly. Probably an early work by the potter who later also created black pottery. Measures 6''L x 2.75''W.
