Native American Santa Clara Carved Blackware Avanyu Pottery Bowl by Madeline Tafoya, measures 3.75''H x 5''D and is signed on the bottom, FYI: ''Madeline Tafoya (1912-2002) was a noted Santa Clara artisan. Most of her production was from 1935-1970 and in her lifetime, she won many awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market including the prestigious Governor's Award. Madeline learned her trade from her grandmother and her aunt and specialized in traditional Santa Clara black and red pottery. Madeline passed away in late December, 2002 at the age of 90. She was a legend in the Santa Clara Pueblo pottery field and her pots are included in most of the better Southwest pottery collections.''
