This is an original exceedginly rare Santa Clara Native American Indian black on black pottery jar by Betty and Lee Tafoya. Lee Tafoya is the son of the famed Margaret Tafoya and studied under her. Margaret Tafoya's work has sold at auction for over $30,000. Betty and Lee Tafoya show the exact same quality and skill in this piece of black on black pottery. The piece shows a incised dragon design. Signed on the bottom, "Betty + Lee Tafoya Santa Clara Pueblo 7-7-77." Rare original early piece. Measures 3.75"H x 3.75" diameter with a 2.25" diameter opening. The piece shows museum quality condition with no visible cracks. (View pictures for condition).
