The painting on canvas in mixed technique (oil and lacquer paint) was painted by the English artist Sandra Crawford (born 1955) and dates to the period after 1982. The present painting of the artist is a fine example of her works that are constantly moving between different cultures. The painting of very large format (180 x 175 cm) shimmers in the manner of painting between the soft melancholic Viennese atmosphere – where the artist lives since 1983 – and the glaring Brit-Pop. The subject of the painting regards heaven and hell with a creature that is similar looking to an angel flying above in the brighter area, and below in the reddish fiery area the creature of hell.



The painting by Sandra Crawford is in graceful condition with usual age-related signs of wear. It is signed and dated on the back “Sandra Crawford 1986“. The dimensions are 180 x 175 cm. It comes without a frame.



Sandra Crawford (born 1955)

Sandra Crawford was born in 1955 in London. Today, the artist lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the Warwickshire College of Technology and Art, the Painting School, University of England in Birmingham, and at the Royal College of Art in London. Crawford’s art is represented at national and international exhibitions.
