First edition (without the Scribner's A, but with three lines of text as per Frazier), inscribed, signed and dated by the author on the front free endpaper: “ To Franklin B. Cardwell / Best Wishes / Will James / 4/15/29”. Octavo (8” x 5.5”). x, 328 pages. Illustrated with superb western line drawings by the author. Publisher's green cloth, pictorially stamped and lettered in black on the front cover and spine. Very minor rubbing and light wear, otherwise a very good copy.
