Location printed on the left border and inside of the corporate seal: Mojave Mining District, San Bernardino County, California. No. 866, issued for 25 shares to M.W. Sprague on Sept. 20, 1883 in Los Angeles. Signed by president James Noel and secretary I. W. Felt. Not cancelled. Black border and print, green mining and allegorical vignettes. Folds, creases on the edges, some toning. No printer listed. Burchard mentions the company in 1885 as beginning to develop the property. Assays of $20 to 100 a ton were being reported. The Mojave District has also been described as being in Los Angeles and Kern Counties. It was located at the townsite of Goldtown. The key ore veins were on the north end of Soledad Mountain.
