Rare; we have no records of selling this one before. Great name for a mining company! Inc. in Wisconsin. No. 238, issued for 50 shares to Andrew Forbes in Chicago in 1878. Signed by president Kennedy and the secretary. Not cancelled. Black border, silver seal, green background, and small allegorical vignette. 3.25 x 7.75" Deep folds. Not in C&L. In E&MJ (October 1878), it is reported that the company owns the Prince of Wales Mine (near the Mountain Queen), "ore runs over 150 ounces, and there are two and a half feet of it."
