From the Nick & Suzanne Nicholas Collection we have a San Ildefonso Pottery Jar by artists Lucy & Richard Martinez, measures 3''H x 5''W and features black on black geometric designs just below rim, Lucy and Richard Martinez (San Ildefonso) were good friends and neighbors of Julian and Maria Martinez of San Ildefonso. Lucy and Maria were two of the first potters to develop the black on black matte painting on stone polished pottery. Lucy Martinez was born into the Picuris Pueblo, but married into San Ildefonso. She is the wife of the famous painter Richard Martinez. Richard was the adopted son of the famous Maria Martinez. Lucy and Richard are the parents of well-known potter Alice Martinez.

*** If an item is materially different than was described by the Seller, Buyer shall have 48 hours from the date the property is received to notify the Seller. After the 48 hour period all items are considered as is, without recourse. No buyers premium or shipping will be re-embursed on items returned for any reason.

Items not paid for upon the non pay warning, will be relisted for resale within 10 days. You represent that you are over the age of 18 and can enter into legal contracts. *** The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser, regardless of the time the bids were placed. In the event of a tie between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute.
