"Into that land where War and Trouble Never Come" was one quote for the passing of Ulysses S. Grant now remembered more as a General than as a President. Dated August 9th, 1885 one day after his funeral in New York by the San Francisco newspaper; "The Morning Call". Little has been published by the press when, as president, Grant stabilized a post-war economy and reconstruction. He was a member of the "Class of '43" from West Point where they once stood together and later stood apart. His funeral is chronologic in three plus pages of the paper, yellowed with minor tears at the folds.
