1956 San Francisco Mint Silver Ingot. 20.53 Ounces. After the San Francisco Mint closed in 1955, it continued to operate as an Assay Office. However, the name was changed to US Assay Office, San Francisco in 1962. This medium-sized ingot has the circular imprint of the mint at the top of the front followed by 462 / 20.53 OZS / 999.75 FINE. The back side merely reads FINE with no imprint of the fineness on that side. The top side has the faint imprint 249. Gray toned silver with many surface irregularities on the top, which was obviously the bottom of the ingot when it was cast. Measures: 58 x 89 mm.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
