Collection of four. 1. “Sutro Baths [of] Point Lobos Road” purchased from “Frank Greg [of] Pioneer Sand and Sawdust Depot” six items for $3.00 for the Swimming Department. Signed by A. S. Harrison, 17 November 1896. The bill was signed paid in January of 1897 by Greg; 2. On May 1, 1897, Sutro Baths bought advertising with Oakland Tribune Publishing Company. The ad is attached in the upper left corner announcing the Baths’ May-Day Festival on Saturday May 1st. The ad announced “1000 Children take part in the Grand May Pole Dance” with a Grand Concert taking place every afternoon and evening. The prices for bathing including general admission was 25 cents for adults and 20 cents for children. General admission was only 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for children. A. S. Harrison signed the receipt on 29 May and it was attributed to the Amusement Department. The Tribune received payment on 11 October; 3. “The Office of Adolph Sutro” received from Ensign McGuffick one case of their best Lard Oil for the Sutro Baths on 1 July 1897. A. S. Harrison signed the bill; 4. Sutro Baths Amusement Department purchased a subscription to the Daily Call for $1.30 on 19 October 1897. On the top of the receipt is a running ad for Paul Rieger’s Flavoring Extracts, Jamaica Ginger and Lemon Sugar. All receipts are in good condition.
