Lot of 56 Items dating from 1864 until 1993 coming from the Northern California region, the majority of which dates before 1930. Included are several miscellaneous out of state items. Among the Lot, the most outstanding items are 1) 1864 Daily Alta California newspaper from San Francisco, CA. This news paper is in good condition. The newsprint is in very good condition with subtle frayed edges: no stains or discolorations, in its own plastic protective sleeve. 2) September 4, 1875 edition of the New York Times. There are several frayed page edges and miniscule page rips: otherwise no other noticeable damage. Good condition. 3) June 19, 1866 Sacramento Union newspaper in good condition: has a subtle page discoloration; no page fraying or tares and is contained in its own plastic protective sleeve. Other items to be mentioned are a series of checks dated 1905, 1921, and 1924 from the Bank of San Jose by way of O.A. Harland and Company, two black and white accordion style postcard booklets with photographs of early twentieth century San Jose, California; 1898 Sutro Bath House official program in plastic sleeve, 1900 contractual agreement between the Sacramento Street and the Trades Carnival Association; 1991 book on California history with an excerpt from integrity amid Tumult: Well’s Fargo & Co’s Gold Rush Banking by Robert J. Chandler. Other effects from the Lot include a series of handwritten and typed letters by a several authors and several business cards for varying business. The over condition of the Lot is good.
