lot of two views of San Antonio, the first titled in the negative 111. The New Federal Building. Post Office & U.S. Court. / Jacobson, Photo. 2 E Houston Str San Antonio., ca. 1889, with M.E. Jacobson's imprint as well as two paragraphs describing the historical, geographical, and cultural features of San Antonio on verso. Although the new Federal Building and Post Office dominate the image, the Lone Star Saloon is visible in the shadow of the imposing structure; and a photograph labeled San Antonio below the image that features the San Fernando Cathedral, as identified on verso, towering over the San Jacinto Saloon, with men passing by in their horse-drawn wagons, photographer unknown, ca. 1880s.
