Samuel Remington: Autograph Letter Signed
Samuel Remington Autograph Letter Signed "S. Remington". Two pages, 10.5" x 8.25", January 25, 1858, discussing $100,000 in capital stock, plain paper, ink. Samuel Remington, son of gun innovator Eliphalet Remington, helped his father run the company, concentrating on selling the popular firearms on the international market. The Connecticut gunmaker writes in this letter: "My Dear Sir, But for the absence of Mr. Johnson who has been absent in New York since the 1st for the purpose of securing funds in part to meet the amt. due you I have delayed ansring in order that I might be able to inform you of remittance either from New York of from here. Not having heard from Mr. Johnson for the past week I can no longer delay on account of the inclosed proxy. I notice what you say . . . to closing the Blg (building) you and the friends of the blg must defacto the move. If it is not possible at the present times to make up the capitol stock to $100,000 cut it down to such sum as will enable you to such full shares. It would be better to do that as you can as I understand it than to close the Blg. With good management on your part you can in a short time bring up the Blg - I should be glad if it were so that I could be with you on the day of the meeting. But our is such as this time as to preclude it. Yours truly S. Remington. P.S. Don't fail to use all efforts to . . . out the flaws." Fine condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
