Canadian-born British shipping magnate (1787–1865) who founded the pioneering steamship line that still bears his name. ALS signed “S. Cunard,” one page, 8 x 10, September 23, 1859. Short letter to W. W. Greenough in Boston. In full: “I enclose draft for $1290 & I have drawn on you for $1112.60 which please to protect.” Second integral page bears an address panel in Cunard’s hand, as well as a small docket notation In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a couple minor wrinkles.
