<B>Sample United States Security Paper 1830.</B></I> This approximate 13 by 12 inch sheet has been folded into eighths. The end quarters are blue and the middle half is white. The watermark is "US" in blue. Printed on the paper is, "To the honourable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States. Gentlemen, The sheet is a sample designed for <I>Paper Money.</B></I> It was manufactured at one operation. It may have any figure, and consist of any number of compositions or qualities of Pulp. The difficulty, expense and exposure attending the manufacture of such paper, will bring infractions to a narrow and responsible compass. Your desire and patronage will furnish an incomparably better specimen. With respect, Daniel Lamborn. Elk Ridge Landing, Anne Arundle Co. Md. May 7th 1830." This looks to be a security paper trial balloon that Mr. Lamborn flew before Congress.
