<B>Double-chambered Single-spout Vessel</B></I><BR>Salinar<BR>300 - 100 B.C.<BR>Burnished orangeware, resist painting<BR>Height 7 5/8 in. Width 3 3/4 in.<BR><BR>The squared-off front chamber is topped by an open-fronted shrine inside which can be seen a large head. Two smaller heads flank the flat area in front of the shrine. The total unit indicates one form of shrine developed by the Salinar culture. The globular rear chamber rests on a low-flanged base and contains the slightly backward-slanting spout.The overall condition is good, with some reglued breaks and minor fills.
