Sale of Ohio Indian Lands Broadside,<p>BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, February, 1839, n.p., but probably Washington, D.C., signed in type M. Van Buren, and James Whitcomb, Commissioner of the General Land Office. An 11.5 x 8" sheet announcing the sale of Indian Lands ceded by "William Walker, John Barnett, and Peacock, chiefs and principal men of the Wyandot tribe of Indians, in Ohio acting in behalf of said tribe" the sale to be held in Marion, Ohio, on the June 3. Docketed on verso "Dr. Edwin Tiffin." This sheet announces the sale of a 1 mile square tract ceded to the United States by a treaty made with the Wyandot on September 29, 1817. The docketing on verso refers not to Edwin Tiffin the elder (1766-1829) but his son.<p>Folds, with minor toning at same, else fine.
