Saint Marys, KS - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 651 The First NB Ch. # 3374A vividly colored and fully original example almost certainly from the hoard that "Doc" Carter from Missouri dispersed during the early 1970's. Doc and Mr. Phil (William Philpott from Dallas, Texas) would set up shop in the "Paper Money Room" at ANA, a suite that was rented yearly by SPMC, and allow customers to purchase notes from different groupings. Doc Carter always had a stack of St. Marys, Wamego, and Kaw Valley NB of Topeka Nationals, while Mr. Phil had a more than ample supply of consecutive runs of 1869 Rainbow fives, priced, as I recall, at $50 per note if you took ten or more as they came from the pack. Choice Crisp Uncirculated. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
