Saint Leopold, 18th century, the patron saint of Lower Austria, depicted standing on a meadowy socle in an animated pose, the left leg bent gracefully forwards, his left hand turned outwards, his right hand holding a flag, the model of a church to his right foot, sweepingly carved cloak and elaborately draped undergarment, the expressive head with rich curly hair and a duke's coronet, the fingers and the flag dating from a later period, original gilding and polychromy, the gilding and silvering with blue lustre, partly restored, with a later socle, a masterful work by an Upper Austrian sculptor, around 1720-30, (Er)
