SWISS INSTRUCTIONAL “E.” PREFIX 1900 LUGER,

HOLSTER.
Cal. 7.65mm Luger. S# E577. Very few M1900 Lugers were made for instructional purpose, separately numbered from E550-E770 (closely estimated), now referenced as “Extra-Serie” pistols, that were largely delivered between 1900-1906. Standard configuration M1900 Swiss military Luger with 4.75” bbl, drift adjustable front sight, and “V” notch rear sight. Dished toggle train, breechblock with an updated extractor, and DWM marking on middle toggle link. Thin trigger, broad grip safety and late fluted safety. Full SN on forward frame and under bbl.; last 2-3 digits repeated on most of the small parts including both grips. The breechblock is “652”; the middle toggle link and takedown lever are unnumbered. Scattered Swiss acceptance crosses in usual locations and “P” release on trigger guard. MAGS: very good correct military with walnut plug/metallic discs. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: VG+ holster with supple leather and intact, stitching. Military holster with added pouch, manufacturer marked and dated “1909” on obverse surface; includes shoulder strap. CONDITION: approximately 99% arsenal blue with commensurately freshened straw. Grips with slightly blunted checkering and added varnish. Discreetly import marked using a fine laser etching method in an unobtrusive area. Near-mirror bore and near excellent manual mechanics. A seldom encountered Luger, one of fewer than 200 assembled, seldom offered for sale in any condition. PROVENANCE: From the esteemed collection of Paul Regnier, Switzerland. (20-1418/LA). CURIO. $5,500-7,000.
