A second unit clapperboard from the production of Richard Donner's superhero film Superman. Used by the second unit during filming, the slate is made of wood, with a clapperstick affixed to the top. A line runs down the middle of the slate creating two fields, titled "Scene" and "Take", respectively. Adhesive canvas tape featuring black handwritten text is applied all over the clapperboard. The production title and the name of director Richard Donner and additional photographer Jack Atcheler are located at the top, while "27th Oct 77" and "Ext-Night" run along the bottom.

Atcheler worked with model effects director Derek Meddings for scenes involving miniature models on the planet Krypton. Principal photography wrapped on 28 October 1977, indicating the board was used during the final days of filming. Thick layers of tape are applied in some fields, indicating that this clapperboard was reused many times. The lot exhibits minor paint wear, evidence of chalk marks on the back and scratching on the metal hinge, while the edges of the tape have begun to peel away in places. Dimensions: 2.5 cm x 31.5 cm x 29.5 cm (1" x 12 1/2" x 11 1/2")

Estimate: 4,000 - 6,000 M
