<B>SUPERB ATTIC CONDITION DOG RIVER CONFEDERATE MANUFACTURED CAVALRY SABER AND SCABBARD WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES.</B></I> A choice untouched example of a Confederate manufactured cavalry saber and scabbard. <BR><BR><B>Condition:</B></I> 34.5” blade with shallow unstopped fuller. Several forging flaws, most notably about 4” from the tip. Smooth gray patina with just a few very minor, indeed negligible, patches of light pitting, very nice. No sharpening or nicks. Crudely cast and finished brass guard and pommel cap absolutely in the black. Oil cloth covered grip with single strand wire wrap perfect. Heavy steel scabbard with typically crude soldered seam. Brass ring mounts and throat. Iron carrying rings and drag.
