Arakanese Governors of Chittagong, Islam Shah, Silver Tanka, 10.04g, "Tri langue" series, BE 959, Obv: Arakanese legend "959 khu naradibbati tha daw anauk bha wa shin (959 era royal son of Naradibbati, King of the West)", Rev: Shahada in Arabic and Bengali legend " Sri Sri ichala saha" (G&G# CG2). Toned, extremely fine, very rare.
These coins were struck by Governor- Viceroy of Arakanese's Raja's at Chittagong area. The viceroy was often a relative of the Raja's. Anaporan the second Son of Arakanese's King adopted the name Islam Shah, but on coin this is given only in the Bengali. Very interesting.
