Sts-47 Payload Flag – Flown At Marshall Space Flight Center During the Mission. The Shuttle Endeavour launched on 9/12/92. It carried a crew of seven and Spacelab-J (SL-J) Scientific Laboratory into orbit. SL-J contained 43 experiments. The mission lasted 7 days, 22 hours and traveled 3.3 million miles. This flag was flown during the mission at the Marshall Space Flight Center Payload Operations Control Center in Huntsville, Alabama. This was the site of all SL-J communication with Mission Control in Houston. This flag was presented to the consignor for his work on the flight. A COA certifying that the flag was flown as described is included.
