Very rare embroidered patch for the COLBERT, a new treadmill delivered to the International Space Station by the STS-29 mission, 4è in diameter, which depicts comedian and TV personality Stephen Colbert running on said exercise machine, with border text reading: ‰ÛÏCombined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill, C.O.L.B.E.R.T.‰Û The consignor notes that less than 100 of these patches were produced. Also includes a reproduction patch for the COLBERT, which is quite rare and desirable in its own right. In overall fine condition

The patch insignia came as part of a consolation prize after Colbert staged a write-in campaign to win a NASA poll about what to name the ISS‰Ûªs next connecting module. Despite getting the most votes, ‰Û÷Colbert‰Ûª was set aside for ‰Û÷Tranquility,‰Ûª a name NASA deemed was more appropriate. To recognize Colbert's effort to draw new attention to their activities, however, NASA announced it was naming the ISS's new astronaut exercise equipment after him: the Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance Treadmill (COLBERT).
