The unusual ornamentation of this silver tau-handled cane has something of a nautical "feel" to it. The handle is 4"long and 2.5" high with repousse "sand dollar" or coral-like blobs and inscribed radiating hatching. The bottom of theneck of the handle is stamped "R.F.S. & Co." on one side, "Sterling" on the other. "R. H. Page" is inscribed on theneck of the handle. The shaft is scarified medlar wood, native to the Pyrenees Mountains. The 1.25" ferrule is nickeland hard rubber or plastic. Overall length, 34.5".(EST 600-800)
