STERLING SILVER TROPHY: Historic sterling silver trophy for First Prize for the ''Golden Potlatch Festival Decorated Automobile Parade'' presented to the ''Arctic Club'' by the ''Seattle Carnival Association'' dated July 22,1911. The Golden Potlatch was a festival created in honor of the arrival of the ''S. S. Seattle'' with the ''ton of gold'' from the new gold fields in Alaska. The trophy has local historical significance and is the precursor of today's Seattle Seafair Parade. The names of winning automobile club members, including Seattle notables such as N.B.Abrams, are inscribed on the back. The bottom is stamped ''Sterling, 5991, 10 pints''. The trophy is cast and repoussed in the rococo style by the Frank Whiting Company, Circa 1910. 129.8oz (Avoir). Minor denting to body and interior imperfections commensurate with age. Feet have been professionally reinforced with additional sterling. Historical information detailing the Potlatch Parade is included. 12''H x 7''W at top.
