His office is the great outdoors. He always has his paints with him and ready. His technique is "alla prima," that is, with the first stroke. His brushwork is spontaneous, not labored or planned.<BR><BR>Inscribed by the artist verso: <I>There was lots of weather when we were at Palo Duro. On a day I was working on this painting a huge storm thundered in. We walked quickly and just made our van when the sky opened up.
